These bowls were created during the Tacoma Art Museum’s exhibition The Current: Saying the Quiet Part Out Loud. The collaborators were guided to put intangible materials into the work along with the clay.
hope: red tempered stoneware, iron-based glaze, rutile wash copper luster, hopes for spring again, faith, self acceptance, bonding, prosperity, lifting up, manifestations in bloom, permanence. memory: brown tempered stoneware, slip-based glaze, iron wash. memories of bare feet, sun, sea, blue, patience, warmth, embracing, connection.
