assignment #3
oh, the things we can say.

Fashion designer and theorist Ken Sakata of Front Office beautifully illustrates how thoughtful decision making can help you communicate anything you want to say. At first it will sound like he's talking about like hunting jackets, but we know he means clay.

Extra Credit:
He gives another example here, same message, different jacket.

assignment #4
on opportunities.

Listen to jazz musician Herbie Hancock tell a story of getting something wrong, and then having it made right.

What to notice here is that it's not just the attitude of looking at things as opportunities instead of mistakes tha matters, it's also the depth of knowledge it took to act on it.

As Julia Child puts it - 'One of the secrets, and pleasures, of cooking is to learn to correct something if it goes awry; and one of the lessons is to grin and bear it if it cannot be fixed.'
