The first installment of an ongoing series created in response to the Union Army’s General Order no.3 - the order that communicated the “news” of the Emancipation Proclamation to the people of Galveston Texas on June 19th, 1865.

The full series will (eventually) be 265 functional sculptures that I’ll make annually, each installment will be different. This year’s installment consists of 22 porcelain cups, marked with three lines of dots representing 6-19-22. I hope you like these little sculptures - they will hold 5-6 oz of your favorite celebratory beverage.
